Take Line 8 (the pink line) from terminal T4 or terminals T1, T2 and T3 (a single station) from Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport, to Nuevos Ministerios. Then follow the signs for Cercanías (local trains). After purchasing your ticket from the ticket office or a machine, look for the platform for line C7, which ends in Alcalá de Henares, or line C2, which ends in Guadalajara. The simplest and most comfortable way to get to Alcalá de Henares is to take bus number 824 from airport terminals T1 and T2. Get off the bus in Vía Complutense-Calle Brihuega in Alcalá de Henares, which is located in the city centre and is the closest stop to the conference venue. The journey takes approximately 40 minutes and the ticket price is 3.60 €.
There are buses every 40 minutes from Mon-Fri between 6.40 and 22.00.
There is also an Express Bus Service from terminals T1, T2 and T4 to the centre of Madrid. The last stop is Atocha, from where you can take a local train (Cercanías, lines C2 and C7) to Alcalá de Henares. The bus ticket costs 5 €.
From Madrid
• By car
Take the A-2 in the direction of Zaragoza. Leave the road at exit 23 following the signs to Alcalá de Henares (Oeste). The journey takes around 30 minutes.
From Chamartín, Nuevos Ministerios, Recoletos and Atocha railway stations, follow the signs to Cercanías (local trains). There are excellent connections between Madrid and Alcalá de Henares from the Transport Interchange Complex (Intercambiador) in Avenida de América (Avenida de América underground station). From there take the ALSA intercity bus number 223, which has departures every 10-15 minutes. Get off the bus in Vía Complutense-Calle Brihuega in Alcalá de Henares. The journey takes about 40 minutes and the ticket price is 3.40 €.
