HOW TO GET HERE

The CSIC campus is on Serrano Street (Calle Serrano). Serrano is one of the most important and commercial streets of Madrid. CSIC campus is not far from the city centre: 15 minutes by public transportation from Puerta del Sol (downtown centre).

The venue address is “CSIC, Calle Serrano 117”. You have several alternatives to get there…

Taxi, Uber, etc
.: Taxis can be stopped in the street if they show a green light and you raise your hand. Uber, etc. need to be booked via the appropriate telephone app.

Electric bicycles can also be hired by the more adventurous of you, with stations all over the city, like this one only 50 m from the CSIC campus.  Their use is telephone app-based (see bicimad).

Alternatively, you can easily approach the venue by metro or bus.

Metro: República Argentina (Line 6), Nuevos Ministerios (Lines 6, 8 and 10) and Gregorio Marañon (Lines 7 and 10). Map (with tourist attractions here)

Bus: Buses to the town centre stop on Calle Serrano, with the bus stop only a few paces from the CSIC entrance. Lines 16, 19, 51 (Bus-stop: Serrano 111) and Night bus N1 (Bus-stop: Instituto Ramiro de Maeztu). Online interactive bus map here.

Train: Nuevos Ministerios - Suburban lines “Cercanías Renfe”: C1, C2, C3, C4 and C7. Map

Long distance trains: High-speed trains (AVE) link Madrid to several major Spanish cities, including Barcelona, Alicante, Valencia, Seville and Málaga, and connect to French stations such as Lyon. See Map. These arrive to Madrid Atocha or Chamartin stations. Both are connected by surburban trains (“cercanias”) to Nuevos Ministerios at no extra cost, and to various metro lines.

Airport: Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport has four terminals. All terminals are conveniently connected to the Metro Subway Line 8 (Pink line), which terminates at "Nuevos Ministerios", < 15 minutes walking distance from the CSIC Campus. Taxis are also available at the airport. The trip to/from the airport to the CSIC takes about 20 minutes with a FLAT RATE of 30 €. More airport information here.
