Information technologies and electronic commerce  - 6 ECTS

Technologies of information and communication (IT) have demonstrated to be essential at moments like the ones we have lived/are living because of COVID-19, through the digital transformation of society and organisations and through the maintenance of the sanitary, working and formative activity. IT is a powerful tool that allows to redesign job posts at companies, modify organisation and make the development of new business strategies possible.  

The complete course will show the most relevant aspects related to information and communication technologies and will particularly focus on electronic commerce and its applications, the advantages and disadvantages of this kind of commerce and its various types, depending on the users involved in the transaction.  Access to the syllabus

Taught by:

 

Antonio de Lucas joined the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism of the University of Alcalá in 2003. He is a Telecommunications Engineer and doctor in Business Organisation at the Polytechnic University of Madrid. His academic experience includes: Schools of Tourism and Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business and Polytechnic. He has published 7 books and coordinated 28 studies on the information society and IT. Elected president of the sectorial area of information technologies of the employer's association of the sector (AMETIC) during 2016-2018. He has more than twenty-five years of experience, working in consultancy, services, public administration and industry (Indra, Tecnocom, everis and IBM, CEMEX and the Ministry of Defense of Spain), participating in IT business projects around the world.

Sorín Gavrila joined the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism of the University of Alcalá in 2019. He has a degree in Business Informatics and an International Master's degree (MBA) and is currently pursuing a doctorate (University of Alcalá). He has been working from September 2017 on multiple international research and development projects in relation to virtual reality, data analysis, cybersecurity, air traffic management and unmanned traffic/drones management within the Indra company.
